In order for you to participate in the 2008 Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon, you must meet one of the following qualifying time standards recorded from March 1, 2007 to the date of entry, 1) Marathon:  2 hours 30 minutes or faster 2) Half marathon:  1 hour 10 minutes or faster 3) 30km:  1 hour 40 minutes or faster 4) 20km:  1 hour 5 minutes or faster 5) 10,000m:  31 minutes or faster Or you must be recommended by the JAAF How can I register for the race? JAAF-registered athletes: Print out the entry form from our HP (PDF format) and fill it out. With the approval of your affiliated federation and the entry fee, submit the form to the address below by registered mail. What is the entry fee? 3000 Japanese Yen. Send the entry fee with the entry form by registered mail. Where is the athletes' lounge? The athletes' lounge is located at Biwako Hotel. Where is Lake Biwa located and how can I travel there? Lake Biwa is the largest lake in Japan located in Otsu city, Shiga prefecture. Shiga prefecture lies next to Kyoto and Lake Biwa is only about 10 minutes train ride from Kyoto station. Which airport has the easiest access to Lake Biwa? Kansai International Airport in Osaka has the fastest access to Otsu city. Narita International Airport in Chiba is another choice, yet it may require an extra day to travel from Narita International Airport to Otsu city, depending on the arrival time of your flight. Where is the athletes' lounge located? The athletes' lounge is located at Biwako Hotel. Can I get a help of travel and hotel arrangement? Yes. Just e-mail us.
